Overthinking everything? Constantly worrying about what's next? Learn practical skills to manage anxiety, stay grounded during stressful moments and feel more confident navigating academics, relationships and everyday life.
The Anxiety Skills Group is designed for students who would like to increase their understanding of anxiety and develop new or strengthen existing skills to cope with anxiety, stress, chronic worry, fear, panic and related symptoms that may interfere with academic and interpersonal functioning.
Anxiety Skills Group has two sections. Each section will run for five weeks. The second section will start after fall break. The materials covered in both sections are identical.
- Group Time: Wednesdays from 2:30-4 p.m.
- Start Date:
- Section 1: Sept. 9
- Section 2: Oct. 21
Enrollment will close after the first week of the group.
Expectations
- Each group session will cover one or more themes and approaches to anxiety management, with brief periods of reflection on how new skills may be used.
- Each week's work will build upon the last, so it's important that students commit to attending all sessions and completing assigned homework.
- Students who participate in this group should be prepared to practice skills each week during and outside of group sessions.
- This group may be more suitable for participants with limited understanding of anxiety or no extensive prior treatment in this clinical area.
