“Artificial Opportunity: Why Universities Are Doomed but the Humanities Could Save Us”: A Talk by Jordan Loewen-Colon (Queen’s College)
About this Event
110 Crouse Dr, Syracuse, NY 13244
Universities are facing an existential crisis. AI's horizon brings massive job replacement, cognitive atrophy and values erosion. Yet the crisis also brings a paradox: creativity, self-reflection and awareness, and the careful navigation of ambiguity, may soon matter more than technical proficiency alone. Drawing on insights from the business and tech worlds, Loewen-Colon asks whether the humanities should use this growing value to help save our institutions, or let it all burn to the ground.
