Image of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training on Campus

February is American Heart Month, and Syracuse University Ambulance (SUA) is offering cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training for students, faculty and staff. A class will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 18 from 4–6:30 p.m. in Room 020 of Lyman Hall.

This training will offer the American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider class, which will review adult, child and infant CPR, including automatic external defibrillator (AED) usage. Members of the campus community that complete the training will be CPR certified at the BLS-HCP level for the next two years.

The course fee is $55 per person, which includes certification and a pocket mask. Attendees can pay online (link emailed to the student prior to the class) or through a University interdepartmental order.

To register, interested participants can contact Paul Smyth, manager of emergency medical services, at pjsmyth@syr.edu. Class sizes are limited to six to eight people per session. Groups or departments can contact Smyth to arrange a private class.
