The Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Group is designed for students who have difficulty controlling their emotions and behaviors, and/or students who may be looking to navigate important relationships in their lives. In DBT, we will work to replace problem behaviors with skillful behaviors. Skills will be taught to help students experience a range of emotions without necessarily acting on those emotions. DBT groups offer four modules of focus: mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness. Students are to expect week-to-week take-home practice to nurture new skills in their environments.
Multiple DBT groups are offered throughout the semester with various start dates.
DBT Group (Five-Week)
- Group Time: Fridays from 10 a.m.-noon
- Start Dates:
- Section 1: Sept. 11
- Section 2: Oct. 23

The first five-week section will focus on interpersonal effectiveness. The second five-week section will focus on emotional regulation and distress tolerance. Students are welcome to join both sections or select one that is relevant to their needs.
