Dissertation Defense: Carlos Ramirez Arenas

The oral doctoral examination of Carlos Ramirez Arenas, candidate for the Ph.D. degree,  will be held on Friday, April 10, at 12 p.m. in the Hall of Languages, room 401 and via Zoom.

Ramirez Arenas’s advisor is Professor M. Gail Hamner. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors William Robert, Verena Erlenbusch-Anderson, Maria del Rosario Acosta Lopez, and Noreen Khawaja. Professor Coran Klaver will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate's dissertation is: “Trabajar es Orar: Time, Religion, and Modernization in Nineteenth Century Colombia.”
