Dissertation Defense: Joseph Beckmann

The oral doctoral examination of Joseph Beckmann, candidate for the PhD degree, will be held on Wednesday, August 12, at 3 p.m. via Zoom.

Beckmann’s advisor is Professor Steven Diaz. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Claudia Miller and Josh Pollitz. Professor Christian Santangelo will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate's dissertation is: “An upper bound on the number of points of excess intersection of nondegenerate varieties in P^n.”
