Dissertation Defense: Kate Franz

The oral doctoral examination of Kate Franz, candidate for the Ph.D. degree, will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 9 a.m. in 220 Huntington Hall and via Zoom.

Franz’s advisor is Professor Kelly Chandler-Olcott. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Bong Gee Jang, Louise Wilkinson, and Zoi Philippakos. Professor Sharon Dotger will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate's dissertation is: “How Primary Grade Teachers Interpret and Respond to Writing Instruction in Core Literacy Programs.”
