Dissertation Defense: Laura Canuelas

The oral doctoral examination of Laura Canuelas, candidate for the Ph.D. degree, will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at 11am via Zoom.

Canuelas’s advisor is Professor Lars Willnat. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Carol Liebler, and Federico Subervi. Professor Emily Thorson will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate's dissertation is: “What Opens the Gate? Gatekeeping, Agenda Setting, Framing, and Press-Activist Dynamics in Puerto Rico's Feminist Social Movement Coverage.”
