Dissertation Defense: Mercy Xie

The oral doctoral examination of Mercy Xie, candidate for the S.J.D. degree, will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 1 p.m. in Dineen Hall, room 336 and via Zoom.

Xie’s advisor is Professor Arlene Kanter. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Christine Ashby, Beth Ferri and Fengming Cui. Professor Audie Klotz will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate's dissertation is: “The Impact of the Convention on Rights of Persons with Disabilities on Education for Students with Disabilities in China: A Case of Beyond Compliance with the Law.”
