Dissertation Defense: Ning Zhan

The oral doctoral examination of Ning Zhan, candidate for the Ph.D. degree, will be held on Monday, August 4, at 9 a.m. via Zoom.

 Zhan’s advisor is Professor Yingyi Ma. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Gretchen Purser, and Dimitar Gueorguiev. Professor Gareth Fisher will serve as chair of the defense.

The title of the candidate's dissertation is: “Mental Illness Between Systems and Relations: Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and Anxiety in Modern China.”
