Dissertation Defense: Saidakbar Askaro

The oral doctoral examination of Saidakbar Askarov, candidate for the Ph.D. degree, will be held on Wednesday, May 6, at 9 a.m. via Zoom.

Askarov’s advisor is Professor Prema Kurien. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Lauren Woodard, Farhana Sultana and Sarah Cameron. Professor Timur Hammond will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate's dissertation is: “I am Karakalpak, and I don't want to migrate': Perceptions and Adaptations to Environmental Change in the Aral Sea.”
