Dissertation Defense: Sarah Stegeman

The oral doctoral examination of Sarah Stegeman, candidate for the Ph.D. degree, will be held on Monday, August 11, at 9:30 a.m. in Eggers Hall, room 151.

Sarah Stegeman’s advisor is Professor Carol Faulkner. The dissertation examining committee will be composed of Professors Martin Shanguhyia, and Tessa Murphy. Professor Joan Bryant will serve as chair of the defense. The title of the candidate's dissertation is: “Becoming Americo-Liberian: African American Women, Culture, and the Creation of Liberia, 1840-1912.”
