La Casita commemorates Latino Heritage Month 2025 presenting a new exhibit, Corpórea / Corporeal, a ppowerful art exhibit exploring themes of healing, identity and community through the les of the human body. The exhibit celebrates the creative work and stories of La Casita's community, positioning art aned self expression as tools for wellness and empowerment. Corpórea features original work in mixed media and installation, centering the human body as a canvas of memory, resilience, and transformation.Creative expression can be not only a source of beauty but also a critical tool for well-being. 

This program culminates a six-week workshop series designed and facilitated by Bennie Guzman, a Syracuse-based artist and recent graduate of the MS program in Creative Art Therapy at Syracuse University, in collaboration with Dr. Emily Nolan, art therapist and professor of practice in the Creative Art Therapy Dept. at Syraduse University's College of Visual and Performing Arts.

This program is part of the 2025-26 Symposium on Creativity, organized by the Syracuse University Humanities Center. Generous support also comes from the Pan African Community of Central NY (PACCNY).
