Justice for All: Opening Pathways to the Bench
About this Event
950 Irving Ave, Syracuse, NY 13244
Syracuse University College of Law warmly invites you to Justice for All: Opening Pathways to the Bench — a fireside-style conversation with four remarkable members of our judiciary, including two proud Syracuse Law alumnae.
Our distinguished panelists will share their personal journeys to the bench — the challenges of getting there, and the realities of serving once you arrive:
- Hon. Lillian Wan, Associate Justice, NYS Appellate Division, Second Department
- Hon. Meredith Vacca, US District Judge, Western District of New York
- Hon. Staci Dennis-Taylor L'14, Judge, Syracuse City Court
- Hon. Deborah Karalunas L'82, Administrative Judge, Fifth Judicial District, New York State Supreme Court
This won't be a discussion of process alone — it's an honest, personal look at what it truly takes to pursue a seat on the bench, and what it means to serve once you're there.
Following the panel, we'll come together to unveil Syracuse Law's new Judicial Wall of Honor, a lasting tribute to the many alumni who have gone on to serve in the judiciary, followed by a reception to celebrate together.
