Title: Compliant Manipulation through Highly Tenable Adhesion: a Decade Long Effort

This talk examines compliant manipulation in soft robotics, focusing on smart materials and adhesion mechanics that let soft structures grip objects of varying size, shape, and texture. After reviewing existing approaches, the speaker will introduce novel methods for dynamically tunable adhesion via subsurface stiffness/pressure modulation to improve soft gripper performance for manufacturing applications.
