DESCRIPTION:This workshop for grad students and postdocs is based on the Ce
 nter for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research’s (CIMER) E
 ntering Mentoring curriculum and will focus on recognizing where undergrad
 uate students are at in their understanding and encouraging them to become
  independent at an appropriate rate. This is an interactive\, scenario-bas
 ed workshop where participants work with a community of peers to develop a
 nd improve their mentoring skills. Participants will start to develop or e
 nhance their own personal mentoring philosophy and leave with a set of str
 ategies to help with mentoring challenges. The workshop is led by CIMER-Ce
 rtified Facilitator Dr. Heather Coleman (Biology). Another workshop\, focu
 sed on maintaining effective communication and establishing clear and real
 istic expectations\, is offered Monday\, June 8 (9-11 a.m. in Lyman Hall 3
