The U.S. Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals to Hold Live Oral Arguments at Syracuse University College of Law
About this Event
950 Irving Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13244
The U.S. Air Force Court of Criminal Appeals (AFCCA) is a federal appellate judicial body that reviews cases on appeal arising from courts-martial convictions. As part of its national public outreach program, the Court will visit Syracuse University College of Law to conduct a live oral argument session on campus.
Through this program, the Court authorizes law students—under the supervision of licensed attorneys—to submit amicus briefs and present oral arguments before the judges alongside counsel of record. During the session, Syracuse Law students will present arguments, on the record, on behalf of both the United States and the Appellant.
All members of the Syracuse University legal community are invited to attend. Representatives from the Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps from each military service branch will also be available to discuss opportunities for service as a military lawyer.
A lunch reception will follow the court session.
This event is hosted by the Syracuse University College of Law and the Military and Veterans Law Society.
