Tough Topic Tuesday: Culture, Not Costume

As Halloween approaches, conversations around costumes and cultural representation become especially important. This workshop will explore the line between cultural appreciation and appropriation, with a focus on how costumes can perpetuate stereotypes, disrespect traditions or commodify marginalized identities. Participants will examine the historical and social contexts of cultural appropriation, reflect on their own choices and assumptions, and learn how to engage others in respectful dialogue about harmful portrayals.
