The holiday season is often framed as a time of celebration and togetherness, but for many, it also brings feelings of exclusion or invisibility. This session explores how dominant cultural and religious norms shape the ways we celebrate (or don’t), and how institutions can create more inclusive environments during culturally loaded times of year. Participants will reflect on their own traditions and assumptions, examine how holiday programming can unintentionally marginalize and learn ways to recognize and honor a broader range of identities and celebrations.
