Queer identity and expression are not universal experiences; they are deeply influenced by cultural, legal and societal contexts. Join LGBTQ+ Resource Center director Emily Stewart for this workshop on how LGBTQ+ people navigate their identities across different regions, cultures and environments, including how expression (through language, dress or behavior) must often shift for safety or acceptance. Participants will reflect on their own assumptions about queerness and develop a broader understanding of global LGBTQ+ realities while engaging in discussions about privilege and visibility.
