While anger is a natural emotional response, social identities often influence how anger is perceived and whether it is deemed “acceptable.” In this workshop, we will explore how privilege, identity and power dynamics impact who is “allowed” to express anger in professional, academic and social spaces. Participants will reflect on their own responses to bias, evaluate when and how to intervene, and learn tools for emotional regulation, effective communication and bias intervention. The workshop will emphasize self-awareness, accountability and intentional action—whether that means calling someone in or out.
