Indigenous histories are often erased or oversimplified, especially around national holidays like Thanksgiving. This workshop invites participants to engage with the history and ongoing presence of the Onondaga Nation and other Indigenous peoples. We will explore the impacts of colonization, challenge dominant narratives about Thanksgiving and examine our roles in honoring Indigenous sovereignty and knowledge. Participants will reflect on their relationship to land, community and historical accountability while learning actionable ways to practice solidarity.
