Join us for a special Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month event featuring a screening of the award-winning film Parasite, directed by Bong Joon-ho. This groundbreaking film made history at the Academy Awards by becoming the first non-English language film to win Best Picture.
Parasite is a dark comedy thriller that explores themes of class, family and social inequality through the story of two families whose lives become unexpectedly intertwined. The film offers a powerful look at modern society while showcasing the creativity and global impact of Korean cinema.
To celebrate AANHPI culture, the screening will be accompanied by Korean and Asian cuisine for attendees to enjoy during the event. Come watch, eat and engage in conversation about the film’s themes and the influence of Asian and Asian American voices in global storytelling. All are welcome.
