DESCRIPTION:Kelly Hayes will lead a workshop on Storytelling in Protests an
 d Direct Actions for members of the SU and local communities. Hayes is an 
 experienced protest leader and organizer who has trained and led workshops
  for thousands of activists and participants in direct actions. They are a
 lso a movement photographer who uses that medium to tell stories of activi
 sm in action. \n\nThis program is presented in conjunction with the Specia
 l Collections Research Center’s exhibition\, We Demand! A Legacy of Acti
 vism in America\, which features collections documenting how individuals a
 nd groups have fought to expand rights\, challenge injustice\, and transfo
 rm American life throughout history. Major support for this event comes fr
 om the Syracuse University's Humanities Center Symposium on 'Dreams!' \n\n
